Happiness is just an ink swatch away

Happiness is Just an Ink Swatch Away

Hello, I’m Diane, a Scottish based designer and Illustrator with over 30 years' experience in the graphic design industry.

I'm passionate about fountain pens and ink and have been an ink enthusiast for as long as I can remember.I have a love of calligraphy, ink pens and inks;  swatching new inks is my favourite preoccupation which also led me onto designing and creating my own photopolymer ink stamps, the different shapes of ink bottles and pens were my inspiration for starting my own wee craft shop.

In August 2024 (after many months of planning and deliberating), together with my husband Rob, I launched my new arts and crafts shop called Felicity’s Attic.

My designs are all about adding a little extra joy to your day, whether you’re decorating your journal or notebooks with stickers, planning your perfect week or stamping and swatching some new inks and inking up your new fountain pen.

I’m really excited to share my creative journey with you through my designs and I hope you love them as much as we do.

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope my products help bring a smile to your face - Happy Swatching!

The Emotional Power of Colors

Colors have the ability to influence our emotions significantly. Happiness, in particular, is often associated with bright and vibrant colors such as yellow and orange. These colors can uplift our spirits and create a sense of warmth. When you see these hues, you may feel a surge of positivity, making it easier to embrace happiness. So, surrounding yourself with these cheerful colors can enhance your overall mood and bring a smile to your face.

Creating a Joyful Environment

To boost happiness, it’s important to create a joyful environment. You can achieve this by incorporating colorful artwork, decorative items, or even paint in your favorite shades. For example, using pastel colors in your living space can create a calm and inviting atmosphere, while brighter colors can energize and inspire you. It’s essential to remember that your surroundings reflect your emotions, so embracing these vibrant colors can lead you toward greater happiness.

The Connection Between Colors and Art

Art plays a crucial role in expressing and evoking happiness. Artists often use specific colors to convey emotion in their work, influencing how viewers feel. When you engage with art that features colors that resonate with you, it can foster a sense of joy and inspiration. Therefore, spending time with colorful art can open your heart to happiness. So, next time you visit a gallery or create your own artwork, pay close attention to the colors that evoke feelings of joy within you.
